City of Arts and Ciencas

Located at the end of the bed of the Turia Park, the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia stands as one of the largest complexes of diffusion of culture and science in Europe. Architecture designed by Santiago Calatrava and Felix Candela, broad international prestige.

The assembly comprising the City of Arts and Sciences engage in a fine architectural avant-garde style that has become emblematic of Valencia, blue and white colors that identify the city of Valencia.

There are five elements that form the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, Hemisferic, the Science Museum Principe Felipe, the Oceanographic and Umbracle. The incorporation of the Agora, will provide the City of Arts and Sciences in a new multifunctional space.

Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia

Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia A spectacular building dedicated to the performing arts. With more than 70 meters high, the Palau de les Arts is divided into 4 separate rooms, equipped with the latest technological advances to represent all kinds of operas, musicals and theater or dance.

Hemisferic

Hemisferic Hemisferic is a projection room IMAX theater, planetarium and laser. It has a screen of 900 m2. The building was designed by architect Santiago Calatrava and is shaped like an eye, which is reflected in a lake of 24,000 m2.

The Museu de les Ciencies Principe Felipe

Science Museum Principe Felipe The building was designed by Santiago Calatrava and reminds the skeleton of a whale. This is an interactive science museum. It occupies about 40,000 m2 spread over three floors. An ideal place for children from 7 to 12 years.

L 'Oceanografic

Oceanografic L'Oceanographic is the largest aquarium in Europe. Its cover is nenufar as the architect Felix Candela. It has 45,000 copies of over 500 different marine species in 9 areas that represent the most important ecosystems on the planet.

The City of Arts and Sciences hosts conferences and international events and is open to the public all year with different programming.

Umbracle

View Umbracle Designed by Santiago Calatrava, is the monumental portico access to the City of Arts and Sciences. Located on the south side of the complex, next to the El Saler motorway and with dimensions of 320 meters long and 60 meters wide, is an innovative solution to enter the parking needs of the complex with the prevailing aesthetic in the set. Viewpoint is a walk consisting of a succession of 55 dock doors and 54 floating arches of 18 meters.
